Charlotte Barnes, one of 278 convicts transported on the Admiral Gambier and Eolus [Aeolus], July 1808.

Charlotte Barnes after Samuel Pateman’s death, remarried to Thomas Bevan on 20 February 1855 in the parish of Pennant Hills, NSW (Reg. No. V1855388 43B/1855).

Charlotte later died in 1866 in the parish of Parramatta, NSW (Reg. No. 5890/1866).

INQUEST -An Inquest was held today by the coroner of the district upon the body of a widow woman named Charlotte Bevan, aged 72, a resident of Pennant Hills, who died on the previous day. It appeared that while the deceased was sitting near the fire, and in the act of dressing a wound on her leg, her cloths caught fire, and no one being near to render assistance, death was the result Verdict Death from shock, resulting from accidental burning.
